PitLane Systems

Camera & Hotkeys

Camera bar, keyboard shortcuts, the command palette, focus modes, and camera modes.

PitLane gives you full camera control over Assetto Corsa's spectator view. Use the camera bar, keyboard shortcuts, the command palette, the Broadcast menu, or the AI Director.

Camera bar

The camera bar sits above the program monitor and splits into two groups. Target is which car you're watching. Angle is which camera you're watching it from. The AutoDirector button sits at the right end.

Target — focus controls

These buttons change which car the camera follows.

Angle — camera modes

These buttons change how the camera follows the focused car.

Orbit Free CamExternal camera orbiting around the car

TV MixAC's built-in broadcast director, mixing track cams, scenic shots, and onboards

Buttons that don't fit are collected under the ... overflow button at the end of the Angle group.

Locking an angle

Right-click any angle button, including angles inside the overflow menu, and choose Lock this angle. This switches to that angle and locks it. While an angle is locked, the AI Director keeps cutting between cars but never changes the camera angle. That is useful when you want a consistent look for a stretch of the broadcast. A padlock icon appears on the locked button. Right-click again and choose Unlock angle to release it.

Camera bar customization

Choose which angle buttons appear in the bar via View > Camera Bar. The Target group is fixed. Reset to Defaults restores the shipped angle set.

The command palette

Press Ctrl+K and start typing. The palette lists every command in the app. Camera actions, flags, overlay toggles, workspace switching, OBS actions, and more. Arrow keys move, Enter runs. It's the fastest route to anything you haven't bound to a key.

Keyboard shortcuts

Default bindings are listed below. Every command in PitLane can be bound to a hotkey, including many that ship unbound. See Customizing hotkeys. The only exceptions are two fixed built-in shortcuts, listed at the end.

Hotkeys also work from torn-off windows. A flag or camera cut pressed in your second-monitor leaderboard reaches the app like any other. See Workspaces & Windows.

Other ways to focus a car

Beyond the camera bar and hotkeys

  • Click a driver in the leaderboard, in the panel or in the Full Leaderboard workspace, to focus the camera on them
  • Click a car dot on the minimap to switch focus
  • The AI Director selects cars automatically when enabled. See AI Director.

Customizing hotkeys

Open File > Settings... and pick the Hotkeys tab, or use File > Hotkeys... to jump straight there.

The editor lists every command in the app, grouped by category. Camera, Director, Flags, Broadcaster, OBS, Overlays, Panels, Telemetry Strip, Camera Bar, Appearance, View, File, and Help. That includes things you might not expect to be bindable. Panel toggles, telemetry strip sections, theme presets, event exports, and one entry per overlay you've added, so you can flip a specific overlay on air with a keystroke.

  • Search at the top filters the list as you type
  • Click a binding and press the key combination you want. Esc cancels.
  • Clear a binding with the small × that appears when you hover a bound command
  • Conflicts. If two commands share a combo, both are highlighted in amber with a warning icon. Hover the binding to see what else is using it.
  • Locked bindings. Commands with a padlock (F11, Ctrl+Shift+D) are built-in and can't be changed.
  • Reset to Defaults at the bottom restores the shipped bindings

Changes apply immediately.
