Download
Download the PitLane Director AC installer from your account dashboard at pitlanesystems.com/dashboard. You need an active subscription to access the download.
The installer is a single .exe file, a little over 100 MB.
Windows SmartScreen
The installer is code-signed. Windows shows the publisher as PitLane Systems LLC, not "Unknown Publisher."
Because PitLane is new, Windows SmartScreen may still show a "Windows protected your PC" notice saying the app isn't commonly downloaded yet. That fades as more people install it. If you see it
- Click More info
- Confirm the publisher reads PitLane Systems LLC
- Click Run anyway
Installer walkthrough
The installer walks you through a few steps.
- Welcome. A short intro screen. Click Next to start.
- License agreement. Read and accept the End User License Agreement.
- Install location. The default is fine for most users.
- Installation. Files are copied to your chosen location.
- Finish. A desktop shortcut is created automatically.
The installer also registers the .pitlane file type, so overlay packs install with a double-click. See Overlays & the Library.
First launch
After installation, launch PitLane Director AC from the desktop shortcut or Start Menu.
On first launch you'll see the activation window. Sign-in happens in your browser, and the app never asks for your password. See Activation & Account.
After activation, the app opens on the Setup tab, which walks you from install to broadcast-ready with a live checklist.
PitLane runs as a single instance. Launch it again while it's already open and it brings the existing window to the front instead of starting a second copy. If you launched it by double-clicking a .pitlane pack, that pack goes straight to the install prompt.
Updating
PitLane checks for updates automatically when the app starts. If a new version is available, a message appears in the status bar at the bottom of the window with a Download button. Click it and the update pulls in the background while you keep working. It installs the next time you quit the app, so it never interrupts a broadcast. Once the download finishes, the status bar offers Restart now if you'd rather not wait.
You can also check manually from Help > Check for Updates....
After an update, a What's New dialog shows what changed the first time the new version starts. You can reopen it any time from Help > What's New.
Uninstalling
To uninstall, use Windows Settings > Apps > PitLane Director AC > Uninstall, or run the uninstaller from the install directory.
Uninstalling removes the application files but does not delete your settings or the Lua sidecar from your AC installation.
